A summer spent gaining hands-on lab experiences, taking part in a range of academic and cultural activities, and making new connections came to a successful end last week for a cohort of 39 undergraduates who were interning at Westlake University’s School of Science.

These undergraduates, who came from nearly 30 leading universities, completed four-week summer internships in our labs, each mentored by a faculty member. 

The universities these students came from included institutions such as Cambridge University, Oxford University, University College London, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Lanzhou University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, and Wuhan University, among others.

They wrapped up their internships by delivering presentations about their individual accomplishments. Likewise, a farewell event was held for these young talents who would be returning to their universities to continue their undergraduate studies.

For four weeks, undergraduates worked in research groups with faculty members and conducted hands-on research in our cutting-edge laboratories.

At the same time, insightful lectures by our esteemed faculty members further fueled their learning experience, and visits to various places in Hangzhou enabled them to explore the city’s rich culture and history, making their time at Westlake a memorable experience of exploration and growth.
