NYU President Emeritus Dr. Hamilton Meets Westlake Chemistry Faculty, Explores Their Research Endeavors

Professor Andrew Hamilton, President Emeritus of New York University (NYU), visited the Department of Chemistry at Westlake University’s School of Science on August 1, engaging in discussion with faculty members and touring research facilities.
He was received by Executive Dean of the School of Science and Xu Yiming Endowed Chair Professor Li DENG.
During his visit, he sat down for one-on-one meetings with several faculty members from the department. Subsequently, Prof. Hamilton engaged in a group discussion with them, gaining insights into the department’s efforts in fostering an environment for world-class education and research.
His visit concluded with a tour of the department’s research facilities.
Prof. Andrew Hamilton is the 16th president of New York University. He previously served as the vice-chancellor of Oxford University and the provost of Yale University.
A distinguished chemist and a Fellow of the Royal Society, Prof. Hamilton’s scholarly work lies at the intersection of organic and biological chemistry. He received his Ph.D. from Cambridge University, his master’s degree from the University of British Columbia, and his undergraduate degree from Exeter University.
