President for American Chemical Society (ACS) Publications James Milne paid a visit to the Department of Chemistry, School of Science at Westlake University on July 25.

President Milne was accompanied by Sarah Tegen, Senior Vice President of ACS Publications, and Amy Lam, Senior Director for the ACS Strategic Partnership of China region, alongside other ACS members.

Executive Dean of the School of Science and Xu Yiming Endowed Chair Professor Li DENG, and Chair Professor in the School of Engineering Jiaxing HUANG welcomed the visiting delegates.

Their visit featured meeting with faculty members, exploring advanced research facilities, and getting an overview of the Department of Chemistry’s research work. 

In the Department of Chemistry, the ACS Publications delegation visited the Center of Artificial Photosynthesis for Solar Fuels (CAP for Solar Fuels @Westlake), which is dedicated to overcoming the challenges associated with solar energy utilization and storage. 

Assistant Professor Dr. Biaobiao ZHANG briefed them on the Center and its scientific endeavors, and led them on a tour of the Center's state-of-the-art research facilities.

The visit highlights the Department of Chemistry's fast-expanding global outreach, connecting with leading institutions around the world.
