On May 27, the School of Science hosted the Westlake Physics Frontier Symposium, where two leading scientists shared their insights into cutting-edge topics of quantum mechanics with a packed audience of visiting undergraduate and graduate students from eight universities.

Prof. Xincheng Xie of the Department of Physics at Peking University, and Prof. Kun Yang of the Department of Physics and National High Magnetic Field Lab, Florida State University, were invited as the speakers of the symposium.

Prof. Xie delivered his lecture on the subject of “Spin Superconductor.”

Prof. Yang centered his presentation on the “Interplay of Topology and Geometry in Fractional Quantum Hall Liquids.”

The symposium was moderated by Dr. Congjun Wu, Chair Professor of Physics at Westlake School of Science.

Participating students were from Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Normal University Hangzhou Normal University, Ningbo University, Hangzhou Dianzi University, Zhejiang University of Technology, Anhui University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The symposium is part of a series of activities regularly hosted by the School of Science, aiming to provide platforms for students from various academic institutions to visit Westlake University and gain valuable insights from leading experts in various fields.
